Gamer Left Unable To Activate Dragon Age II Following BioWare Forum Ban

While integration across services usually provide a more streamlined experience, should it come at the cost of consumer rights?

One frustrated gamer let off steam on BioWare’s forums, posted some derogatory comments, and was slapped with a 72 hour ban. All is well, right? Not so, as the ban impacts all EA services, which left him unable to activate his store-bought copy of Dragon Age II — the Signature Edition no less.

Is it an oversight on EA and BioWare’s part? Apparently not, at least that’s what we’re led to believe. One moderator chimed in on the forums, stating that EA community bans policy “can affect access to your game and/or DLC.”

Yikes. Sure, the guy may well deserve a forum ban, but to lock him out of content he purchased? Overboard much?
