Aliens vs Predator Dev Enters Social Space

UK developer Rebellion Games, responsible for 2010′s Aliens vs Predator reboot, is branching out to the lucrative social games space. The firm announced today that it has opened up a business segment dedicated to social gaming, following a beta run of its first Facebook title Evil Genius.

“One thing that has become increasingly apparent over the last few years is that gamers can’t be defined as just people who own consoles – people who use social media like Facebook or use smart phones all play games and this is an exciting new opportunity that we want to explore,” co-founder Jason Kingsley told trade site Develop.

Reportedly, the move will not hamper core efforts going forward, as Rebellion still plans to develop “traditional, boxed triple-A product” alongside that of casual experiences.
