Years in the making, developer DICE has released a new teaser trailer for Battlefield 3, giving us the first look at real-time gameplay. Set in Iraqi Kurdistan, the footage — split across short cuts — depicts U.S. Marine soldiers mired in a conflict against hostile PLR forces.

It’s safe to assume the footage was taken off PC, as DICE recently confirmed that it is the lead platform.

Look for a more formal unveiling during GDC next week. Battlefield 3 is slated for a fall 2011 release on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.
