THQ’s announced that Red Faction: Armageddon, the latest entry in its destruction-heavy shooter franchise, will arrive on May 31. An international release will follow on June 3.
Players assume the role of demolition specialist Darius Mason, embarking from the frozen poles to the molten core of Mars in a struggle against “Red Faction’s greatest enemy yet.”
Built on Volition’s proprietary GeoMod 2.0 engine, THQ says “players can take advantage of total environmental destruction, collapsing huge Martian structures on their enemies.” Additionally, players can rebuild demolished structures by taking advantage of the Nano-Forge’s repair ability.
It’s due out on PS3, Xbox 360, and PC.
