It’s official, Assassin’s Creed isn’t taking a breather this year after all.

Ubisoft boss Yves Guilemot broke word in an investor call for the company’s Q3 2010-2011 financial results that it plans to divulge information on the next Assassin’s Creed in May. This comes alongside word that Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, the latest title in the franchise, has shipped 6.5 million units to date.

“We will have an Assassin’s Creed this year,” said Guilemot. He added, “We are going to give you more details in May.”

Looking ahead, Ubisoft mentioned that the PC release of Brotherhood is due out as part of the company’s fiscal Q4 lineup, which ends March 31.

Haven't they been saying that they were going to give it a break for awhile so people don't get tired of Assassin's Creed?

x3sphere says:

One of Ubi's associate producers said a break would be beneficial last year. Seems the higher-ups think differently though.

As long as they maintain a consistent level of quality, I don't really mind. Haven't gotten around to playing it yet (waiting for the PC release) but I heard Brotherhood was great.

Spiros says:

Same with me, I've heard nothing but praise for AC Brotherhood. I've actually only just beaten the first AC, and plan on playing AC II, hopefully I can get through those two games before this new one comes out. Any guesses on where it'll be set?
