Torchlight 2 Delayed till July, Xbox to “Blame”

by Justin B. on February 9, 2011 @ 2:27 pm

Max Schaefer, CEO of Runic Games, told Digital Spy that Torchlight II will have to be pushed back to July. The Xbox Live version of the original Torchlight was recently released and it seems that the development of that version took more resources and time than originally expected. Schaefer explained “I’d say that the Xbox project, having to do the extra work with the interface, has pushed us back a little bit, so we’re probably talking July right now for Torchlight II.”

However, with this delay comes some good news. Through the development of the Xbox version, Torchlight II will be receiving some improvements and optimizations that the Xbox version received and has also allowed them to trim down the load times. So while we’ll have to wait a little longer, the wait should be well worth it.

*sigh*

I remember Torchlight being promised a free MMO update. No sign of that so far which has put me off Runic Games. ¬.¬
