Sony Aims To Match Or Exceed PSP Install Base With NGP

The PlayStation Blog has posted up a interview with SCE head Kaz Hirai in which he speaks his mind about the recent NGP announcement and more specifically – Sony’s expectations for the device.
While Hirai says the firm is aiming to match the current PSP install base, he feels the NGP could very well outpace its predecessor, given the robust feature set. He specifically points to partnering with 3G networks, the inclusion of front and rear touch pads, and dual analog sticks as strong incentives for consumers.
Time will tell, as always. But with Sony ramping up third party support from the get-go this time around, the NGP is certainly in a favorable spot.
