Crytek Confirms PC Crysis 2 Multiplayer Demo Is Incoming

PC gamers can rejoice: Crytek hasn’t forgotten its roots. The developer just tweeted that a pre-launch Crysis 2 multiplayer demo is incoming for PC. Soon, you’ll be able to decide if it’s upgrade time for your rig ahead of the March 22 release date.

At this time, Crytek & EA are glad to confirm that we’ll be releasing a pre-launch Crysis 2 multiplayer demo on PC! Stay tuned for details.

Details are forthcoming. Currently, the demo is an Xbox 360 exclusive affair.

Depending on how much I like this demo when it comes out from what I can play on my dying machine, it will be the deciding factor of if I should upgrade or not, and how much of an upgrade.

The fact that it's coming to consoles should be good news for PC users in regards to optimizations. The PS3's RSX is little more than a modified 7900 GTX, couple that with a decent CPU and we should be able to at the bare minimum run it at a higher spec than the consoles do.

Crytek also has a much larger budget for this one, which they've also said will only benefit PC users.

Well, I hope anyway. :P
