Mixed reactions from fans aside, no one can argue that Final Fantasy XIII wasn’t a financial success, shifting more than 5 million units worldwide, heralding it as the fastest selling title in franchise history. That’s why Square Enix is releasing a follow-up, aptly dubbed Final Fantasy XIII-2.
While details remain scarce, the debut trailer indicates that heroine Lightning is returning in protagonist capacity. Take a gander above. Expect a quicker turnaround time if Square Enix sticks to its schedule: XIII-2 is due out later this year.
