First Call of Duty: Black Ops Map Pack Detailed

by Justin B. on January 17, 2011 @ 10:28 am

The first map pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops, First Strike, was just detailed with an official preview video which you can view above. The map pack includes 4 new multiplayer maps as well as a new zombie map. Unlike Modern Warfare 2′s offering of 3 new and 2 old maps, Treyarch is going for 4 all-new MP maps that look to cater to nearly all gameplay styles.

One of the maps, Kowloon, will feature ziplines on the map, allowing for fast traversing between key points of the map while leaving you vulnerable to enemy fire. “First Strike” will be available first on the Xbox 360 on February 1st with “more details to come for PS3 and PC”. Expect to pay 1200MS points for the pack, which translates to $15.

Think I'll wait until they fully fix the PS3 version. I don't think Treyarch care about the PS3 at all.

Robby says:

I always thought CoD to be more of a Xbox franchise, even though it is multi-platform.

eldiablov says:

Well that makes approximately no sense.

Craig Fairfax says:

I think the main reason people complained about the price of the maps last time is because not all the maps were new. I only had the game for a week, so I'm not yet sick of the maps to complain about that fucking timed exclusive bullshit.

Robby says:

Whenever they show vids of it, it's always the xbox version, and the xbox version is always the one with the less amount of bugs, and the xbox version always gets the map packs first. It just seems like they like the xbox more.

MenaceInc says:

Microsoft likes to persuade a lot of companies with their wallets. That's how Call of Duty 2 made it onto the 360 in the first place.

Robby says:

I know, I'm just saying... it feels like the CoD franchise has been centered towards the xbox platform. Or am I wrong?

ilyace says:

Yeah I know exactly what you mean. All promotion that's been done for CoD (way back to CoD 4 as far as I remember) has been done through the 360, and even though like Menace said it's all just an outcome of Microsoft throwing their wallets at them, your point is still valid. eldiablov's just mad cause he has a ps3 ( '-')
