Ballmer Reveals Kinect Sold Over 8 Million

Tonight Microsoft kicked off the official opening of CES with their annual keynote presentation in which Steve Ballmer revealed that the Kinect sold well above expectations. The goal for the holiday season was roughly 5 million units but the Kinect went above and beyond, reaching 8 million units sold so far for a 60 day period. That’s a monumental achievement for Microsoft considering they’ve also revealed that 50 million Xbox 360 system have sold world-wide as well; Just over 16% of Xbox 360 owners have a Kinect already.
