EA announced today that it will release a Dead Space 2 demo on PSN and Xbox Live later this month, December 21. This comes a full a month ahead of the title’s retail debut in January.

Set in the Necromorph-infested Church of Unitology, the demo sees players assume the role of engineer Isaac Clarke. Expect an arsenal of weaponry and tools to supplement your extermination pursuit. These include the new Javelin gun, a jet-equipped advanced suit, and updated stasis recharge mechanic and enhanced telekinesis ability.

“The holidays are a great time to enjoy all forms of entertainment, and we can’t wait to give horror and action adventure gamers a taste of what awaits them in Dead Space 2,” said executive producer Steve Papoutsis.
