EA’s hit snowboarding franchise SSX is ripe for a revival, and it seems EA Canada has been given the honors.

A Kotaku report claims that EA Canada has been quietly working on a new SSX installment, one that will allegedly take the series “back to its roots,” albeit with minor alterations. The bulk of EA’s Skate team is said to be handling development, introducing controls that utilize the right analog stick to pull off tricks and stunts.

Earlier last month, a brief VGA teaser surfaced for a title codenamed ‘The Planet,’ depicting an arctic landscape. Interestingly enough, the clip represents that of an EA-developed title. Could it be SSX? Adding more credence to that notion is the fact that EA Sports head Peter Moore linked to said tease on his official blog yesterday.
