According to a report over at the Financial Times, Nintendo is making a considerable gross profit on its Wii hardware in Europe.

How much exactly? Be prepared for a shocker. Analyst Soichiro Fukuda estimates that the Big N’s gross profit per console is 1,500 yen ($13 US) in Japan. But here’s where things get interesting. In the US and Europe, Nintendo is pulling 5,600 yen ($49 US) and a whopping 8,500 yen ($74 US) respectively.
