PlayStation Move Ships 4.1 Million

Like Kinect, PlayStation Move continues to be a hot seller this holiday season. Sony announced today that worldwide shipments of the wand-like device have hit 4.1 million, representing a near 1 to 10 attach rate, going by the PS3′s current userbase tally — 41.6 million.
Sony notes that the figure does “not include sales of stand-alone PlayStation Eye camera or stand-alone PlayStation Move navigation controller. However, it does of course factor in multiple Move units bought for a single PS3. It’s also pertinent to note that this covers units shipped to retailers, not actual product sold to consumers, meaning the actual sell-through number is likely a bit lower.
With 2.5 million Kinect units out in households already, the Move isn’t flying off the shelves quite as fast, yet its adoption rate is nothing to scoff at either. Healthy competition is always a good thing.
