In an effort to bridge the gap between Assassin’s Creed 2 and Brotherhood, Ubisoft announced today that it will release Assassin’s Creed Ascendance, an animated short story set to hit PSN, Xbox Live, “and other digital channels.”
A Ubi Workshop production, Ascendance gives a wealth of backstory on protagonist Ezio Auditore, chronicling his struggle to remove the treacherous Borgia family from power. Ezio also learns the truth behind Ceasare Borgia’s rise to leadership and subsequent control of Italy, a string of events rife with fear and betrayal.
Set to hit the aforementioned digital storefronts next week to coincide with Brotherhood’s November 16 release, the visual narrative will carry a nominal price point of $1.99. See a trailer after the break.
