Nintendo Kicks Off “Hanabi Festival” In Europe

Nintendo kicked off its “Hanabi Festival” on the European Virtual Console this week, an event dedicated to bringing European gamers games that never saw the light of day in Europe, Australia, and New Zealand.

This week is Mario week and brings Japanese versions of Super Mario Bros 2 and Mario’s Super Picross. Sept 21, next week, is Ninja week and brings NES classics Ninja Gaiden and Ninja JaJaMaru-Kun. Sept 28, the final week, brings Sci-Fi hits Sin & Punishment and Gradius III.

Pretty cool news. Now I wonder if the US will get some games that were never released here, such as Terranigma.

x3sphere says:

It's actually the same... The Lost Levels = SMB2 in Japan.

The SMB2 we got was called Super Mario USA in Japan.
