Microsoft Ups Year End Kinect Sales Forecast To 5 Million

Microsoft expects its massive advertising expenditure on Kinect to pay off in spades, predicting that it will generate approx. $750 million in sales. The company forecasts that it will sell an upwards of 5 million units of the full-body motion device through Xmas, up from an initial target of 3 million, according to a tweet from Bloomberg’s Dina Bass.
Hitting that milestone in such a short timespan would herald Kinect as “the biggest Xbox product launch ever” in terms of sales, according to Microsoft interactive entertainment boss Don Mattrick.
Kinect launches tomorrow in the US, with a November 10 debut following in Europe.
