Rumor: Project Gotham Racing Reboot Planned

by Mike Bendel on November 1, 2010 @ 4:27 pm

Microsoft is shopping around for a suitable developer to reboot its Project Gotham Racing series, according to a Develop report. Developer Bizarre Creations of Geometry Wars fame handled the franchise up until its forth installment, following Activision’s acquisition of the studio in 2007.

While in-house partner Turn-10 has been tossed around as a likely candidate, best known as the driving force behind Microsoft’s Forza simulation-focused racer, a source close to Develop claims Microsoft’s headhunters are eying to outsource development efforts to a third-party studio.

File this one under wait and see, then.
