2K Resumes Development On BioShock 2 Minerva’s Den And Protector Trials DLC for PC

2K Games has had a change of heart, retracting its decision to withdraw support for the PC version of BioShock 2. 2K rep Elizabeth Tobey confirms that development on the Protector Trials and Minerva’s Den DLC packs has resumed. Additionally, a final patch is in the pipeline.

Not to keep you in suspense any longer, I’ll sum it up with one sentence: We have resumed development on all three and they will be coming to PC.

According to Tobey, the patch and Protector Trials are on-track to pass through certification in December. Despite being a paid offering on Xbox 360 and PS3, 2K has decided to release the DLC free of charge to PC owners, as a token of gratitude to fans.

As for Minerva’s Den, the situation is not as a clear-cut. When development ceased, Tobey notes that the content “was not in a workable state and needed significantly more dev time to complete.” Due to its current status, 2K is not yet ready to give a release window. However, rest assured that 2K has “reallocated resources” towards completing the project.

That's an excellent turnaround, especially with it being free. Nice job to 2K!

Finally. I'm glad they recognised that PC users are not second class citizens.
