SCEA Launches 80 GB PS3 Compatibility Checker

As you may already know — the new 80 GB PS3 utilizes software emulation for older PSone and PS2 games instead of the hardware-based Emotion Engine chip. As such, Sony has now added the 80 GB PS3 to its backwards compatibility site.

Users can log on to the site, enter in the game title, and a list of known issues (if there are any) will pop up. Much more intuitive than the European backwards compatibility site, which has no search function whatsoever.
