Crazy Taxi Redux Drifts To PSN, XBLA In November

by Mike Bendel on October 12, 2010 @ 11:36 pm

With a restored edition of Sega’s over-the-top cab racer Crazy Taxi due out on PSN and XBLA in November, the company saw fit to pin down firm release dates today. It’s slated to hit PSN on November 23, with a XBLA release following on November 24. It’ll set you back 800 MS Points ($9.99).

Following its 1999 debut in arcades, the title quickly garnered worldwide appeal when it was ported over to Sega’s now-defunct Dreamcast. The addictive mix of chauffeuring and stunt-based gameplay made for a crazy premise.

The XBLA and PSN rendition introduces upscaled 720p visuals and a 16:9 aspect ratio to boot. Also promised are ranked leaderboards.

I loved Crazy Taxi back in the day. Not sure how impressed I'll be with it all these years later, but I'll at least download the demo of it.

eldiablov says:

I'll definitely buy this if the price point is decent, any more than £10 is a deal breaker though.

Andy says:

Same, I really enjoyed this on the PS2, especially the mini games like bowling.

MenaceInc says:

Hell yeah. Loved playing Crazy Taxi on the DC. Not sure how shifting between reverse and drive will work on the 360 controller.
