Rumor: Super Mario 25th Anniversary Wii Hitting Europe

by Mike Bendel on October 8, 2010 @ 10:09 pm

Nintendo of Europe is celebrating Mario’s 25th in style with a sleek hardware bundle that includes a red Wii and Motion Plus-touting Wii Remote to match, according to a leaked product box shot.

While we’re filing this under rumor until official word from Nintendo comes in, the imagery looks convincing enough.

One significant difference from its Japanese counterpart are the included contents. For the European release, it appears Nintendo has decided to sacrifice novelty for value, omitting a modified version of NES classic Super Mario Bros., which features coin blocks etched with the number “25.” A quick glance at the box shot shows New Super Mario Bros., Wii Sports, and a preinstalled copy of Donkey Kong Original Edition as pack-ins.

Of course, there’s no word on if a similar bundle will make its way over to North America. If a stateside debut is on the cards, chances are we’ll know about it soon.

That looks rather ugly imo

I like the black wii.

Nader says:

Black one is nicest looking. But then again, the graphics on the Wii are really bad, so get a PS3 instead.

Why don't they include the Super Mario compilation Japan is getting also? That would make me buy a Wii
