2K: No Further DLC Updates Planned for BioShock 2 PC

According to a statement from 2K Games rep Elizabeth Tobey, the company has decided to cease releasing further downloadable content updates for the PC version of aquatic shooter BioShock 2. That means DLC offerings Protector Trials and Minerva’s Den, both of which extend the single-player portion, will remain console exclusive. So much for platform parity, eh?
“We will also not be offering Protector Trials and Minerva’s Den on the PC in the future,” said Elizabeth in a response on 2K’s official support forums.
Citing technical and timing issues, 2K says it is “sorry” over the decision to drop support.
Is an apology enough for those that invested in the PC version of BioShock 2? It’s an odd decision, one that could have serious ramifications on consumer faith. At the very least, this will undoubtedly make some think twice before picking up a 2K title on day one.
