Valve Discounts Left 4 Dead And Left 4 Dead 2 On Steam, 66 Percent Off

by Mike Bendel on October 5, 2010 @ 12:50 pm

Valve’s “The Sacrifice” DLC pack for Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2 has arrived. In lieu of that, the company has temporarily slashed the price of both titles on Steam at 66 percent off.

Factoring in the discount, this sale puts Left 4 Dead and  its sequel at $6.79 each. Alternatively, you can pick up both as part of a bundle offering for a mere $10.19.  The choice should be obvious for any soon-to-be newcomers to Valve’s co-op zombie fest.

Valve says the sale will run for a “limited time,” so act fast if you want in.

Bran says:

Well shit, I guess I'll buy L4D2 at that price.

fuck it, getting both was only 3 dollars more.

Nader says:

In Euros its about 50% more expensive.

EvilSeph says:

Welcome to Steam.

Bran says:

I now own 5 steam games, and these are the only ones I pair for.

Abe Froeman says:

I love L4D2. I wish we played it more as a group here still.

Bran says:

I'd be up for it now that I own it. I just work seconds so I'm not sure I'd ever be around when other people are.

Chathurga says:

Same here. Since upgrading to Windows 7 my comp just can't handle it anymore though, fuckin sickened.

MenaceInc says:

tempted to get L4D at that price but I'd never play it since I have L4D2 :S

EDIT:

that's strange, Windows 7 runs better for me than XP or Vista. :S Ah well

EvilSeph says:

We should organise a game of The Sacrifice now that it is out. I haven't looked at it yet, is it any good?

Abe Froeman says:

I haven't tried it yet. I might have time tonight to get on.

Andy says:

I'm down for a game, haven't played it yet either.

Zero says:

It's a pretty entertaining campaign. Bit short, though.

Trigun says:

Ugh, man I still don't have the cash for these even at this cheap price.

EDIT: oh wait, i've got 9 bucks. Which means I have some money.

Which would you guys recommend ? The first or the Second? I played the demo of the first one before it came out and had a blast. Is it still worth playing?

Abe Froeman says:

I'm downloading the DLC now, just fired up Steam. Anyone interested in playing in a bit?

Andy says:

Yes

Abe Froeman says:

Cool, at this rate, it'll be done downloading in like 10-15 minutes.

PR0fessor Burnt says:

I would recommend the second

Abe Froeman says:

So the new DLC is pretty fun, we just played it.

EvilSeph says:

I'd just get both, it's worth it even not on sale. Especially when we get together as a community and play.

Trigun says:

Aw damn, guess it was one day only :/

And here I was gonna do it today. Oh well.

Bran says:

Glad I got it when I did then. Damn.

Colm says:

I haven't been on Windows for a while, so when I got on Steam again this deal was over. :'(

I'll have to pick up L4D2 really soon though. I love those games.
