Take A Glimpse At This Fan Made Duke Nukem 3D Remake
by Mike Bendel on September 29, 2010 @ 5:38 pm

A loyal Duke Nukem fan known as “Fresch” over the Gearbox Software forums has taken up the monumental task of giving Duke’s first outing a fresh coat of paint, remaking 1996′s Duke 3D in Unreal Engine 3. He calls it Duke Nukem Next-Gen.
While the project is still awaiting approval from the original producers at 3DRealms, Fresch has tossed up a few screenshots to give the public a rough idea of what it would look like. Although obviously early – it looks quite impressive, to say the least, remaining faithful to the original with high-def visuals.
Fresch is being realistic over a release date. Even with help from a sizable team, he notes that a mod this ambitious would take years to complete. With that said, it’s safe to say we’ll be playing Duke Nukem Forever before it’s released. More screens can be viewed at the link below — enjoy the high-def nostalgia.
