Retro Takes A Break From Metroid

Speaking in a recent interview, Metroid Prime 3 Corruption director Mark Pacini has said that Retro Studios will be taking a well deserved break from the series that brought them recognition in the gaming industry.

We are taking a break from the Metroid series and from Samus. I think that there will be other titles created. But as far as Retro Studios is concerned, we’ll take a break for a little bit.

I can understand that. After working on a trilogy for more than a few years I’d say it’s time to move on to something else. Perhaps an original IP?

Anyways, the ball is your court now Nintendo. It’s time to bring us Metroid Dread.
