Mario Turns 25, Nintendo Announces Japan Bound Super Mario Collection

In commemoration of Mario’s 25th anniversary, Nintendo announced today that it is honoring their iconic gaming figure with a bundle that encompasses several of Mario’s classic decade-old adventures.

Dubbed Super Mario Collection Special Pack, the disc-based Wii bundle is a port of the SNES release Super Mario All-Stars, which includes Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros. 2, Super Mario Bros. USA and Super Mario Bros. 3.

Also included is a nostalgic book that delves into the history of the franchise, along with a soundtrack CD that features numerous memorable tunes from the original NES outing to Galaxy 2.

However fitting this bundle may be, it’s unfortunately exclusive to Japan for now. Here’s hoping Nintendo has plans to recognize the red-capped plumber here in the states, too. He’s just as loved across the globe!

I hoped they would update the graphics, and maybe build it on the NSMB engine, but the Bonus material is very nice. Might have to import for the CD and Book.
