Golden Sun: Dark Dawn Hits DS November 29

by Mike Bendel on August 30, 2010 @ 10:48 am

Nintendo announced today that the next entry in Camelot’s charming Golden Sun series will arrive on November 29 in North America.

Set 30 years after the events of the previous installments, Golden Sun: Dark Dawn is led by a new generation of heroes that embark on a simple adventure. The romp later unfolds into a dramatic quest to save the world from catastrophic forces.

Standout gameplay facets like the Djinn system make a return with a total of more than 70 creatures. These grant players the ability to summon powerful deities in and outside of battle, able to unleash devastation on opponents and serve as elemental powers that can be used to solve puzzles in obstacle-laden dungeons.

El Diablo says:

This game simply cannot come out soon enough, I can't wait for this.

Serideth says:

70 more djinn? Damn, I can't wait for this myself.

Adiuvo says:

70 more djinn sounds insane. I probably won't pick this up until I get a 3DS though.

Seth says:

I never played a golden sun would this be a good pickup?

FrozenIpaq says:

Yeah definitely

Seth says:

This wont be one of the " I have to have sun to play" games is it?

Roe says:

No, not at all!

x3sphere says:

The DS has a backlight, why would you need sun to play it o.o Unless I'm completely missing the point of your question.

Seth says:

The last golden sun has some kind of light gameplay or something.

vXAlexanderXv says:

Neither of the previous two Golden Sun games required that crazy sunlight sensor to play, so I imagine this one won't either.

As for the Djinn, I think they mean a TOTAL of more than 70, meaning there won't be the original djinn, plus 70 more, just 70 plus some.

KezraPlanes says:

I really need to play the two GBA ones again. Maybe on my android phone if there is a GBA emu xD

Serideth says:

I'm kinda tempted to play the first or second one myself. EDIT: Again.

El Diablo says:

Yeah I think I'm going to have to play both again as well. I found my games the other day and could have sworn one of them I didn't fully beat so I tried to play it and trying to go back through the dungeons with half (or maybe all?) of the puzzles complete and not remembering all of the abilities and how everything worked hurt. I might have to at least play one of them for a little bit so I can remember how it works :P.
