Red Faction: Battlegrounds Announced

THQ unveiled today that it is producing a new downloadable title for Xbox Live and the Playstation Network entitled Red Faction: Battlegrounds. The companion title was revealed by THQ Digital creative director Don Whiteford this morning at GDC Europe and will be available three or four months before Red Faction Armageddon hits the shelves.
Battlegrounds will be a top-down combat game, similar to how Twisted Metal plays. Along with your traditional top-down gunplay in cars, mechs and rovers, the game will feature destructible environments and some nice fast-paced multiplayer games. You can check out the trailer after the break.
