The Akrid-infested world of Lost Planet 2 will descend on PC October 15, publisher Capcom announced today. Boasting DirectX11-enhanced visuals, the PC edition renders smoke with “lifelike volume and depth” and “water surfaces react realistically to player interaction and bullets.” Additionally, the title will support Nvidia’s 3D Vision tech, including the Surround variant.
Spec-wise, Capcom recommends at least a GeForce 9800 or HD 4800 series video card, paired with a Intel Core 2 Quad or AMD Phenom X4 processor. Of course, to run Lost Planet 2 with all the bells and whistles, a DX11-capable card is required. In that case, an ATI 5000 or GeForce 400 series card will fit the bill. A complete breakdown of requirements can be found past the break.
Also, if you’d like to see how well your rig handles this one ahead of time, check out Capcom’s Lost Planet 2 benchmark. The test involves two phases, the first of which is designed to give “indication of typical game play performance,” while the latter is designed to push a PC to its limits and leverages DX11 if available.
