Square Enix sent along word today that its upcoming high-impact mech shooter Front Mission Evolved has been pushed back by a couple weeks. The title, which marks a franchise-first in the third-person shooter arena, is now scheduled to ship to retailers on September 28. No reason was given for the setback.
Those who pre-order now at the select retail chains of Amazon, Best Buy and GameStop will receive two classic Front Mission wanzers, Calm and Rexon. Details are provided below.
* Calm: A wanzer that has long been a part of the FRONT MISSION series. Although its appearance is far from intimidating, this war machine is unmatched in melee combat as well as long-range firefights when equipped with the appropriate weapons.
* Rexon: As in previous FRONT MISSION titles, Rexon is a skilled sniper-type wanzer. Once equipped with a rifle, it becomes a threat to anything that crosses its line of fire.
Front Mission Evolved is slated to hit PS3, Xbox 360, and in stereoscopic 3D on Windows PC.
