Today, during their summer media event, EA has announced the development of Darkspore, a Sci-Fi action role-playing game which is set to be launched in February of next year. Darkspore is inspired by the creature editor in Maxis’s award-winning creation, Spore and is using that creator to create an all-new and changing world depending on the skill level of the player.
Darkspore will have five “genetic hero types” and three “unique classes” within that will enable “limitless upgrades and customizations through the parts players collect on each planet level”. The game will feature a full single-player experience with four-player co-operative play and online functionality as well.
