Killzone 3 Eliminating Load Times & Lag

Steven Ter Heide of Guerilla Games told Ausgamers in a recent interview that they are looking to get rid of load times “completely” as well as improve on the lag that previous Killzone entry was plagued with. In the E3 demo the initial loading for us was well over a minute but after that initial load we didn’t experience any other loading zones. It looks like Guerilla Games wants to get rid of as much loading as possible and that makes me one happy camper.

In terms of the controller/input lag, Heide also mentioned that they are working to get rid of the lag completely as well, something that was apparent in Killzone 2 and is well documented online. In the build we played at E3 I didn’t notice any controller lag at all, so they’ve pretty much gotten that one all set for primetime.

Glad to hear it. The KZ2 load times were huge, probably the only thing I didn't like about it.

Riorio99 says:

As long as it isn't fake "no load times like Uncharted 2, where it loads for an age before launching into a game, which doesn't have load times, then it's all good.

Nice. Netcode's pretty much half the battle with lag, and it's good to see it being tackled in KZ2.

Resistance 2 springs into mind, online play was very smooth even in large games. Only lag I ever noticed there was in registering kills.
