Oddworld Universe Soon To Be Revisited By Just Add Water

Felt the humor-laden universe of Oddworld was overdue for a revisit? You’re in for a treat. Gravity Crash dev Just Add Water has confirmed that it is working on “multiple” Oddworld projects across several platforms.

This comes as a result of internal discussions between JAW and Oddworld Inhabitants that began way back in June 2009. Beyond that, details are nonexistant for now. Emphasis on “for now,” as JAW teases of announcements promised “over the coming weeks and months” that will star fan-favorite Oddworld characters.

Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee, the first entry in the series, was released in 1997 to critical acclaim on PSOne and PC. A platforming effort published by the now-defunct GT Interactive, critics celebrated its dark, over-the-top humor and distinct visual flair.

“It’s almost symbiotic in that when something moves forward on any of the projects we just start chatting about new items, or what if we do this,” said a very enthusiastic Stewart Gilray, managing director at JAW. He added, “We’re all extremely excited to breathe life into the Oddworld universe and indeed to let it breathe life into us.”

This will either be very good, or very bad. There's no inbetween for a project like this.

I agree. I'll be really disappointed if they mess this one up, I used to love Oddworld on the Playstation.

I need to play through the Oddworld PS1 games properly at some point, this might just inspire me.

MenaceInc says:

Get them on steam, they're only £8 for both games.

Riorio99 says:

I would, but I already have both games for PS1, not gonna pay again.
