PSP God of War Developer Ready At Dawn Lays Off 13

Developer Ready At Dawn, the A-list team behind 2008′s hit PSP title God of War: Chains of Olympus and the upcoming God of War: Ghost of Sparta announced a reduction in workforce today. In a somber note on its official site, the California, Irvine-based dev revealed that it reluctantly let 13 employees go today.

“We’ve spent the majority of our time at RAD hiring the best and most talented people to join our team. Today, we had to let go of 13 of these people because we simply couldn’t keep them on board while one project finishes and another ramps up.” read the statement. Referencing the uphill struggle that smaller studios face, it closes out noting that “Unfortunately, these are the woes of being independent…”

Always a shame to see a studio forced to scale back, especially one as talented and ripe for potential as Ready At Dawn. We wish those affected by today’s round of cuts the best of luck.
