Ubisoft Delays Driver Reboot Into 2011

Publisher Ubisoft has moved its car-teleporting reboot Driver: San Francisco outside the holiday release window. Originally scheduled for November, the title is now due out in 2011.

The revelation was unearthed as part of the company’s sales estimates for the first fiscal quarter ending June 30, 2010.

Ubi squared blame on an overly “competitive market” for the setback. We went hands-on with Driver when it was first unveiled at E3 and it felt like a solid return to form, to say the least. It’s a shame we’ll have to wait until next year to play it. Then again, perhaps it’s for the best. Diverting attention to a resurrected IP during the crowded holiday months is no easy task.
