ESRB Watch: Castlevania Chronicles

by Mike Bendel on August 10, 2007 @ 12:31 pm

Looks like the impending release of Castlevania: Dracula X Chronicles and PSN re-release of Symphony of the Night is not all the whip-swingin’ action PSP will see. From the pages of the ESRB search results comes a listing for PSone title Castlevania Chronicles, a remake of the 1993 Sharp X68000 Castlevania.

It’s listed for both PSP and the PlayStation 3, which means a PSN release is likely.

Re-release SoTN?? What was wrong with the first release? I have that one from the PSN store so I'm just curious. And yes, Chronicles sucks..who's the idiot deciding these games??

Cheezeball99 says:

What are you talking about, re-releasing SOTN?

x3sphere says:

My news post originally said PSN re-release of SOTN. I meant that the game was released on PSN. Anyways, just edited it, sorry for the confusion.

Chronicles wasn't that bad, at least compared to the 3D PS2 Castlevania games. Still, though, they definitely need to put up better games on the PS Store like MGS and FFVII.

Cheezeball99 says:

Oh, okay, my bad.:blushing: Anyway, I haven't played Chronicles, but I didn't think Curse of Darkness was THAT bad, c'mon:closedeyes: Although I have it for XBOX. Never played Lament of Innocence, can't opinionate that one.

RJC4LIFE says:

At least it's not Bloodlines..

MenaceInc says:

Bloodlines was better than this....IMO

Cheezeball99 says:

 Bloodlines ROCKED FACE! I LOVED that game, it was the only Castlevania I owned until I got SotN for PSX. Eric Lecard FTW.

RJC4LIFE says:

Sorry, I just didn't like it very much.

Cheezeball99 says:

It's all good, d00der.:thumbup1: Everyone's entitled to their opinions.

RJC4LIFE says:

Of course...by the way, the best Castlevania game was Castlevania Adventure for the old GB........
