Sony is prepping an answer to the slim revision of Microsoft’s Xbox 360 in Japan with all-new hardware configurations. Gone are the 120GB and 250GB offerings of old, as come July 29, Sony will replace them with 160GB and 320GB variants respectively. Additionally, there will be two different colors to choose from. Sony is introducing a “Classic White” model, pictured above, to complement that of the standard black.
The 160GB touting configuration will retail at 29,980 yen ($341 US), while the premium 320GB offering will carry a slightly higher price tag of 34,980 yen ($398 US). There’s no word on when or if the new color will see a stateside release. Same goes for the beefed-up hard drive sizes. As usual, jealousy ensues for the time being.
