TimeSplitters 4 Goes Satirical On Games

by Mike Bendel on August 7, 2007 @ 12:56 pm

One of Free Radical’s better known FPS series, TimeSplitters, is heading in a new direction with its upcoming sequel. The past games have always parodized other movies such as Jurassic Park, Indiana Jones, and even games like Resident Evil. The sequel, however, will focus more on putting a satirical twist on games instead of movies, according to script writer Rob Yescombe.

In the past TimeSplitters has been very satirical at the expense of movies, this time it will be satirical at the expense of video games.

We still don’t know which platforms TimeSplitters 4 is heading to, but I am excited about the title so far. The first two games in the series are great.

No love for Future Perfect? It's alright, my fav has to be the 2nd... And I agree, MenaceInc, when I first attained the 2nd one for PS2 I started to play it and honestly, I could feel, before I even started getting to the action in the first level, the Goldeneye/PD in it. Seriously, just by moving around I felt that N64 goodness all over it. These games rock face, IMO. I can't wait to see them take on video games; I really REALLY want to see their parodies on MGS, GTA and Final Fantasy, that'd just be too awesome. "Gelatinous Mongoose, can you hear me? You have to take that Plastic Gear!"
