THQ: Metro 2034 Not Due Until 2012
by Mike Bendel on July 1, 2010 @ 11:58 am

THQ VP Danny Bilson’s sudden namedrop of Metro 2034 took us aback, considering its predecessor was only released last March. Today, the exec clarified those statements, revealing that the follow-up to 4A Games’ post-apocalyptic epic is still in the preliminary stages of development. Meaning, it won’t be out for a couple years.
In 3D, we have two things in 3D, and they’re both on the core side: we have Metro 2034 in a couple of years.
A couple years would place it firmly in THQ’s fiscal 2012 lineup, joined by Devil’s Third. We weren’t exactly expecting a quick turn-around time. No details on Metro 2034 have been offered up at this point, other than the fact it will support stereo 3D tech. The original did as well — on PC, courtesy of Nvidia. Although platforms were not specified, the fact that THQ is placing such an emphasis on 3D this time around could mean that the next Metro will land on PS3 as well.
