Koller Talks Downloadable PSP Games

MTV News’ Stephen Totilo recently had the chance to talk to Sony product manager John Koller. In the interview Koller shed light on something that’s been a hot topic lately: Downloadable content for the PSP. We know that the PSP is getting an online store, with games, movies, and music to download. But when? Koller wouldn’t give an exact time frame, but said we should hear more about this service within the next six to eight months, far longer than initially expected due to digital rights management issues. Still, great to hear that it’s coming, eventually.

Continuing the downloadable content discussion, Koller said there will be original games for download only on the PSP Store, much like what’s available on the PS3 Store.

On a unrelated note, Totilo also asked Koller about the status of infamous PSP developer Dark_AleX. Has he been employed by Sony? Has Sony shut him down? “Neither. I think he’s taking a hiatus,” Koller replied. Of course – most of us already knew this – but if you had thought Sony had something to do with his leave, there’s your answer.
