80GB PlayStation 3 Now Available

It’s a little earlier than expected, but Sony announced today that the 80GB PlayStation 3 is now available retail-wide in America.

For $599, you’ll get the base PS3 console equipped with an 80GB hard drive, and a copy of MotorStorm. So, in essence, you’re paying $100 more for a game and an extra 20GB.

Sony reiterates that they will continue to sell the 60GB model in the US and Canada until the stock is depleted.

I now want to say something shadowforte said on one of his podcasts... Why is it that as soon as they launch a console, one or two months later launch an even better one with better hardware? C'mon!!! >: O
