Microsoft Details Xbox Live Family Subscription Plan
by Mike Bendel on June 22, 2010 @ 12:05 pm

Beginning this November, Microsoft will roll out a family subscription plan for Xbox Live accounts. Instead of doling out $50 per account, families can opt for a bulk package that includes a total of four individualized accounts for $99. That’s quite a savings – disregarding the sporadic discounts stores sometimes have on XBL subscriptions of course.
Microsoft says the family pack enhances the user experience with “access to additional conveniences and services including the new Family Center, accessible on the Xbox dashboard and Xbox.com for easier family management, access to activity monitoring reports, and the ability to purchase and give Microsoft Points to other Xbox LIVE Gold Family Pack members.”
Additionally, “exclusive family content and discounts” are also promised. Again, the family tier of XBL subscriptions will go live in November, just in time for the release of Microsoft’s full-body motion controller Kinect.
