Grand Theft Auto 4 Pushed To 2008

by Mike Bendel on August 2, 2007 @ 2:13 pm

Blockbuster-title Grand Theft Auto 4 was originally planned for an October release, but now has been pushed back to 2008 due to “additional development time required to complete the title.”

Take-Two Chairman Strauss Zelnick further elaborated on the delay, stating that “certain elements of development proved to be more time-intensive than expected, especially given the commitment for a simultaneous release on two very different platforms.”

The delay is disappointing, I’ll admit. But also reassuring, as the E3 build of GTA IV suffered from sluggish frame rates. If Rockstar needs time to improve the game, then by all means, do it. I’d rather wait than play through a buggy mess.

Eh, I don't mind, but isn't that a somewhat steep pushback?

x3sphere says:

Yeah. The game totally needs it though. From what I heard the frame rate of the E3 build was horrible...

So you mean it's like every single previous one?:p Heh, I always thought the FPS of the previous GTA's were horrible.
