Ubisoft Reveals “ManiaPlanet”

Ubisoft has announced today during their media briefing the creation of “ManiaPlanet”. In a nutshell ManiaPlanet is not a game but rather a platform for user-created content. They’re calling it a ‘user-powered PC gaming zone’ but it still doesn’t make anything clearer for me. Apparantly you’ll be able to create games and content based on three popular genres, FPS, RPG and racing.
The same guys that built TrackMania are also creating this platform which will be supported by TrackMania 2 (Beta in Q4 2010), ShootMania (Beta in Q1 2011) and QuestMania. If you are still wondering what this whole ManiaPlanet thing is, you’re not alone.
