Well, there you go. Ahead of E3, modern-day Ninja Gaiden creator Tomonobu Itagaki has dropped the bombshell that is his next project: Devil’s Third.

Not surprisingly, it’s a bloody, third-person shoot ‘em, slash ‘em up. There’s no shortage of gore, as evidenced by the debut teaser trailer, which sports a minute or so of gameplay footage. Has a real bizarre, over-the-top vibe. And as previously mentioned, copious amounts of red goo. What’s not to like?

Slated for a multi-platform debut on Xbox 360 and PS3, THQ is handling publishing duties. There’s no word on a firm release date yet. We’d say 2011 is a safe bet.
