Sony Bundles PSPgo With Free Games

For those still teetering on the edge of a PSPgo purchase, perhaps Sony’s latest deal will win you over. As part of a year-long promotion applicable to North America only, those that pick up a unit from today until March 31 of next year will receive a PlayStation Network voucher code redeemable for three select titles.

While not nearly as enticing as a similar offer over in Europe that encompasses 10 free games, it’s still a nice gesture nonetheless. One question remains: why wasn’t this done sooner? The PSPgo received a rash of negative press over its premium $250 price point following its October debut last year. To an extent, such reactions could have been subdued with offers like this. In North America, early adopters were treated to a “free” digital copy of Rock Band Unplugged Lite at launch.

To coincide with the PSPgo offer, format hits Gran Turismo, LittleBigPlanet, Resistance Retribution, and Secret Agent Clank join the Greatest Hits catalog this month, priced at $19.99 each.

Last but not least, in a continued effort to offer more value to consumers, Sony is introducing a “Favorites” line of software titles for PSP. Slated to hit retailers beginning this month, all titles under the “Favorites” umbrella will cost $9.99 each. Look for the initial line-up of offerings past the break.
