Second Modern Warfare 2 Map Pack Inbound

by Mike Bendel on May 6, 2010 @ 4:56 pm

You can file this under the “non-shocker” category. In Activision’s latest financials earnings call, company COO Thomas Tippl dropped word that a second map pack for Modern Warfare is on the way, giving gamers more ways to spend their stimulus dollars. Infinity Ward is handling development duties on it.

Beyond that, no other concrete details were offered up, aside from mentioning a release date target of “late 2010.”

Tippl further noted that the $15 price point would likely stick as it has provided a “fantastic value to gamers.” His words, not ours. We suppose it’s hard to argue with Activision’s stance on pricing when the last map pack went platinum in under 24 hours, marking a record-shattering achievement on Xbox Live.

Suckeeeers. I won't pay $30 for maps for a game that cost me $30.

When I seen that PC gamers in the UK were being charged $18 for the first map pack, I uninstalled and deleted my backup of MW2. There's no way I'm supporting their business model.
