First Alan Wake DLC Episode Included With Purchase

Microsoft is throwing a bone to those who purchase Remedy’s physiological-thriller Alan Wake new in the form of a complementary DLC episode. A token card is included with every purchase, redeemable for a game add-on scheduled to release post-launch.
EA has employed this practice to curb used game sales with the likes of Battlefield: Bad Company 2 to much success. It comes as little surprise to see other publishers adopting the strategy.
That being said, there’s no word on when the first bit of episodic DLC will hit Live, or what it entails. At least those who buy new will have the comfort of knowing that it will come free of charge, whenever it drops.
Exclusive to Xbox 360, Alan Wake hits shelves May 14 in Europe, with a North American release scheduled to follow on May 18.
